Our daddy is out with his little guysletts digging potatoes! They are bringing in some HUGE ones to go with the 2 1/2" thick, hand cut rib-eye steaks we are having for dinner. There will also be fresh corn on the cob, straightneck squash, sourdough bread with oil/vinegar/basil/garlic dip, string beans, chard, and maybe a salad in case anyone is hungry...

Under that is a layer of light colored clay. Our sons will soon have more information as they learn to dig deeper and deeper holes.

	Garden is a clearing in the woods grading from shallow, rocky soil supporting a maple bush to a pine forest planted on sandy soil and a clay bottomland with spruce and tamarack.
