Hi! My first post at this website, this all looks so interesting! Anyways, we have taken on the ambitious venture of growing a small orchard (about 50 trees) of organic, heirloom apples here in northwestern Pennsylvania. Some of the young trees have started to bear this year. I've been spraying with several natural sprays, including Surround. However--it looks like we've been hit with the dreaded plum curculio on most of fruit. Anyone have any success at controlling this pest with natural methods? I did note that the one tree I sprayed the earliest (While still in bloom, in fact) escaped most of the damage. But, as I understand, there will be another cycle. This year is not really a great concern how the fruit turns out, more of a experiment year where I figure out what to do in the future. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
