Hi everyone. I know that I am probably posting this a little before the final garlic harvest has occurred, but I am hoping that someone might be growing some Music garlic that they would be willing to trade. A bulb or two or even some bulbils would be much appreciated. I have some great looking Chesnok Red garlic curing in the garage to offer, as well as some bulbils developing on plants still in the ground. I could also offer seeds for: Bachelor's buttons Sweet peas Catnip And assuming that things continue going well with the tomatoes: 6 pound giant tomato Cherokee purple tomato Red brandywine tomato Large red cherry tomato Sweet red grape tomato (from F-1 hybrid) Huando (from Dave) Porter (from Dave) Csereznyealaku Cherry (also from Dave) Ruffled Yellow (again from Dave - he's the best Black Cherry (from Dave) Polar Circle (from Dave) Gulf State Market (from Dave) Yellow Lemon (from Dave) Thank you. Patty

Patty: What is music garlic? I hazard a guess that the scapes look like musical notes or something like that?

Patrick - that would be fantastic! Thank you. Would you like any Chesnok Red garlic in return? (I didn't see it on your list of garlic.) Or anything else from my list?

I guess you have some lined up butif anyone else wants a commercial source we grow garlic still has some for sale, as of two or so days ago, when I was last at their site. They have LOTS of garlics. I choose three which can store for up to a year, and they were among those the people from we grow garlic keep in their kitchens so they must be tasty too. One hardneck and two softnecks I believe it was......

If you grow Music from bulbils, it will be 4 years before the maximum size will be obtained. The bulbils aren't much bigger than a grain of wheat. After one year, a round not much bigger than a pea is obtained. Planted back, it results in a round less than an inch across. When that is planted, divided bulb is obtained. Those cloves will them produce a normal bulb. That is exactly the same with Estonian Red and I've done both! Karen & Mike of www.wegrowgarlic.com are getting a tremendous amount of orders this year and many are already sold out despite all still hanging. I'm a little nervous about it this year. I was just there a few days ago and don't like how it's drying. Since mine weren't behaving as they should, I wanted to see how they were doing in the barn granary. As with mine, not quite warm enough or dry enough and they have big fans for circulation 24/7. We planted 22,758 cloves last fall so there is an awful lot of garlic involved. Between the two fields, I've figured that 40,000 would be a comfortable number without crowding. However, we're aiming at ONLY 30,000 this fall! Martin

They grow Music around here and are easy to get at most farmer's market. I can try shipping you some bulbs if you remind me in a week or so.
