In '06, I got seeds from Wintersown in an Heirloom Tomato Mix. One of them was a lg orange beefsteak. I saved seed from a few of them. There is a good possibility they crossed with another variety.
I grew out a few seeds (just to see), and gave plants to one of my friends. I looked at them yesterday. Some of the fruits on both of the plants are "siamese". Kind of like the yellow squash in Johno's avatar. It has the remains of 2 blossoms on the bottom. I can't get a pic until next week. I haven't had time to check if I had volunteers in my garden.
Any idea what causes this? It occurred on 2 separate plants. But only a few fruit on each one. Does this mean it is genetic? They are not even in a garden. They are in DIRT on the side of the house, because my friend just moved there in June. I already told him he cannot keep any of those off-types. They are not for eating. lol

Most beefsteak type tomatoes are siamese... Its really just where multiple flowers produce tomatoes that grow into one another creating one giant tomato. Alan could probably elaborate better than I.
