It appears that it could very well be a Pink Accordian? I asked on T-Land and was told that stuffers aren't always as hollow as they should be.. I haven't had a chance to check back all day...Off now to see if there are any more posts in the feedback department

I didn't hear back from her yet. Here is a pic of the mater I grew cut open- this was meaty, not hollow. Here is the one from the Baker Creek catalog- Look how pleated both ends are. All of mine had "flat" bottoms.

I grew some of these this year as well! My seed came from BC and they didn't exactly look like the pic in the catalog, more like the pics that have been posted here. They also weren't very hollow-ish, again very much like the pic posted here, meaty. Overall a good tasting matter, nothing that I thought was exceptional but, good. I was kind of disappointed that they weren't more like the pic, but I wondered if the massive amounts of rain (53.34 as of Sunday) we got this year had a large impact on the shape, surely on size. I plan on growing them again next year so we will see if they come out differently.

Jeannine, We had NO rain here and I did not water once. I am going to grow them out again also. We'll see what happens. I did order Yellow Accordian from Sandhill Preservation. I wonder if their strain is more pleated.

FP, No rain and not watering!!! Couldn't happen here with any success. Seems we either get it or we're talking drought, at least that is how it's been since I moved here 10yrs ago.
It will be really interesting to see how the Yellows turn out. I, for sure will be watching next season to see if they are any different (other than color) than the pinks. I did notice that when the fruits were young(er) they seemed to be more pleated than when they matured. Which is the reason why I was thinking the massive rains may have had an impact of overall pleating....just got seriously plumped(now where's that bubble font when I really need it, hahaha?) to overfill stage. They also had quite a bit of cat-facing, which is surely due to the water amounts? Maybe not? How did yours come out in that area?
