I have used them in the past, was happy with the plants I got, last years order was a bit iffy, but I ordered at the end of the year clearance. Someone local to my area just posted on a list I am on about some problems he had with their stuff, and included their reply email. He had order a goumi that turned out to be russian olive, and they gave him totally incorrect info regarding it. Just wanted to let anyone who might be ordering from them that there may be some quality control issues. Apparently they don't propagate their own plants, which is a disappointment to me. Of course I know that most larger places don't grow their own, but I would have thought that a place like this would have more concern for their customers. Silly me.

One error and your conclusion is that they aren't concerned about their customers?
I've ordered from Burnt Ridge for 17 years. I have never had any type of problem.
At Garden Watchdog Burnt Ridge has the following rating:
67 positives 3 neutrals 3 negatives
That rating says it all.
Burnt Ridge propagates many of their own plants, the ones they truly love and enjoy. But people expect nurseries to carry a broader selection, so they do.

Just saying that the email they sent to their customer was pretty flippant, and that they said they bought their plants from Lawyer nursery so it wasn't really their fault. And they gave him incorrect info trying to cover for it. I have also ordered from them many times without problem, but my last order was not of the expected quality either. How a company deals with a problem says a lot about them, and in this case customer service could have said they were sorry for the mix up and sent the correct plant.

Generally the response you get from any merchant is going to depend upon how you approach them. If you tell them that they are stupid and incompetent you shouldn't expect them to be very warm and fuzzy in response.
Once again, Burnt Ridge's rating at Garden Watchdog:
67 positives 3 neutrals 3 negatives

we have ordered from they for years, their printed catalog is modest, their prices are good, their diversity is interesting and their plants excellent

I've only ordered from them once, a Jahn's Prairie Gooseberry. I was very impressed by the quality of the plant as well as the care in packaging.
Just my $.02
