So, it won't be long before the seed companies are once again dropping off those lovely "spring" 2008 catalouges but what I want to know is what are your new favorites from 2007, you know the ones you can't live without now?
Mine: Yellow Brandywine Celebrity Black Cherry Brandyboy F4
These will all be back on the list for next year.

Black Cherry is a can't-live-without, to be grown every year.
Also liked from '07: Aker's West Virginia Kellogg's Breakfast Watermelon Beefsteak Blackfoot Cherokee Purple Rouge D'Irak Yellow Giant Belgium
Might or might not grow them next year - there are so many new ones to try! They definitely go on my "Keepers" list.

I will definitely be growing Sungold cross, Pink Accordian, Blondkopfchen, Texas Wild & Striped Roman. All did very well despite the drought and were still tasty. That Granny Cantrell tasted good. And it held up well to international travel.

lol
The Al Capone of the tomato world!
Speaking of Sungold, that thing is becoming a full on breeding parent for about 15 different projects of mine along with sunsugar.

It wasn't smuggled. I declared it at the border AND declared her Pink Accordian on the way back. The U.S. border patrol stifled a giggle ;D, then had a look at it. The Canada Customs agent was a little more suspicious . I didn't have passports for them, but I guess by 2009 I'll have to,

Well, that's a plus, I was thinking that the pink accordian would be a bit hard to hide, maybe a bit painfull! ;D Just kidding. -Alan

If Blue were unable to bring the PA into Canada, Paintman would have eaten it while still in NY. Last yr, I grew a 6-pk of Sungold on recommendation of one of the local farmers. I did let quite a few volunteers come up. One of them had a nice lg fruit- about golfball size. But most looked and tasted exactly like the F1.

One other mater I am growing is called New Jersey Devil. Its a Roma style but very tapered at the end, like a horn. Looks like a pepper in pics.

New Jersey Devil. Pretty trendy to be an NHL team and has a tomato as a mascot.

Blue i already have granny cantrell and all of the rest on my list plus so many more family heirloom plus other varieties i would like to grow but i grow so many tomatoes now that i have to give them away or be overrun by tomatoes .I finished cleaning up the last of my tomatoes cages and i have a big pile of vines awaiting when they dry out so i can burn them. Now i have to wait for my back to get well before i can till my treee leaves into the soil. So many things to do with a bad back sigh.

The NJ Devils have a farm team in Albany. They are called the River Rats. Their mascot is an ice skating Norway Rat with "Rattitude".
