Val, did you raise your own bird this yr? I am a little jealous that Thanksgiving is much earlier in Canada. There's not much to pick fresh around here in late November. I do go pick as many "wild" apples as I can to make applesauce. I don't make pies, just cakes & cookies. lol

Karen, no sorry, just a domestic bird. Actually looking at Alan's posting of the turkey site makes me sooooo jealous of the varieties that you, Americans can order. 10 miles north of the border makes all the difference. Sheeze the birds can fly that far. Actually we have some wild turkeys in the neighborhood, but they would make awfully tough and stringy eating.
