I saw this berry on 2 different Scandanavian cooking shows last week. My bf picked me up a jar of the preserves. VERY tasty. The seeds are a bit hard though.
There is really no source for plants. I do have the boggy conditions it needs. Blueberry is very prevalent in the wetland. I saw that it grows wild in Canada. Sometimes it's called Bakeapple. If anyone sees this plant, please let me know. I'd really like seeds. Thanks

I have heard of this plant growing here in cold, rocky conditions like Newfoundland and up north. If I am lucky enough to find myself (decked out in moisquito netting) in an alpine marsh, I will collect a basket so we can all give it a go. This project looks interesting: www.uku.fi/northernberries/

I'll brave the skeeters. I do it every yr to collect the low bush bluberries. It's the black bears I am concerned about. lol
