Ok, I know these are "technically" extinct, but I remember reading sometime recently (an article I can find) about the turkey survey from I believe 2005 which reported that there were a couple growers in Canada with small flocks who were increasing them and breeding them to APA standard. I wonder whatever happened to those guys and if there is now any stock available? Does anyone know? For those of you not familiar with the Beltsville turkey (not the same as the midget white which has a smaller breast and weights a pound less) here is a link: www.albc-usa.org/cpl/belt.htmlIf I cant find them I"m going to go ahead and start a small seperate flock of the midget white and cross them to some larger standard bronze and royal palm types in order to try to breed a new, wider breasted small type turkey.
