Well, we had guineas for a number of years. They were wily birds. However I know of no poultry which is adept at evading coon, since coon come at night when the birds are at an extreme disadvantage.
The only solution I know of is to close your birds up at night. We had, even our guineas, trained to go in at dark. Then, after dark, someone has to go out and lock up the pens.
I have a friend who hooked up a garage door opener to his coop. It's set on a timer. So his birds get closed up and let out automatically.
My brother had a bunch of chickens which chose to roost in a very large red cedar. Red cedar is quite prickly. They did okay. But once he got his coop set up, he made sure they went in and got locked up.
Hope this helps!

Thanks, I guess we will need to get them to go in at night then. Someone told me that since they fly they can get away yet that is a good point about the night sneak attack. We have a couple of redwoods, too bad I can not train some to go up there.

If you know there are coons, the birds need to be locked up at night. A guinea is a nice big target for a coon. But a bird like that cannot outrun or outsmart a raccoon.
