I have 2 wethers that just turned 14 yrs old. They are fraternal twins, Max & Moritz. They are 1/2 pygmy at least. They are in great health and very active for their age. They will still jump up and butt horns. I do need to deworm this week, but they are looking a bit skinny in general. There is no such thing as senior goat chow. And I've had them on horse chow for all these yrs anyway. I was thinking about putting them on senior horse chow. Most likely Blue Seal. Any suggestions or comments?

I can't comment on the feed, as you have a lot more experience than do I, with elderly goats. However, I would heartily recommend that you have a fecal sample checked by a vet. We have about a dozen goats, and one of our milkers was just not thriving. We took in a sample and the vet gave us some parasite medication, special for what was ailing her. We treated the whole flock. In two days she went from wobbly to prancing and butting heads with the others. But what really surprised me, was that the whole flock showed dramatic improvement. We hadn't noticed that they needed to "get better."
The wet spring we experienced here seems to have caused a lot of parasite problems with the animals.
Hope you can get them perked up!
