I ordered Paul Robeson maters from Baker Creek and they just informed me they are out. I really want to grow these (have for years but never found a source for seeds until this year) so does anyone have a few seeds they want to trade for say a nice assortment of rare lettuces or tomatoes (I have a landrace striped I am in year 5 of developing. The parents are pink brandywine and opalka) I also have a few Glick's Pride tomato seeds, one of the rarest on the planet

Don't you hate it when that happens? I spent hours looking through catalogs, and finally made a list, which I whittled down, and then they were out of that one and Black from Tula, which were on my final list. (Cause I really needed them??) I figured that you just can't go through a whole year without ordering at least some seeds, from somewhere. And winters are long and cold here. Catalogs, and plotting and planning for the summer help with the garden withdrawl and cabin fever. Anyway, I did get Black from Tula from a kind soul here, and I figure I'll try Paul Robeson next year. I've heard such good things about it.

Earl, are you being an enabler or what? Is this one of the items on your list so you can cross it off? Love that show, it's one of my favorites! I'll pm you.

I grew this one last year. It was very good. Produced like crazy. I like it better than Cherokee Purple

Though I'm no tomato fan myself, this one has been a "must have" for market for three years, apparently it's great flavor and niche appearance make it "irrisistable" to customers who always want more than I can provide! Highly reccomended by Bishop's Homegrown!

That's where I got my strain that I've been selecting for from a few years back, I'm working on a greatly improved and more productive selection of this terrific tomato for the future.

After sowing 90 varieties this year, I'm glad I missed this thread. However, it has now been placed on the "must have in '09" list ... thanks ...
