Just recieved my first order of shipped day old chicks today from Ideal poultry down in Texas. I highly recomend these guys if you are going to order chicks at any point in time, professionally packaged, arrived on time, all in good health, everyone alive and full of energy. I ordered 14 Easter Egger chicks (hens) and they sent 18, while I'm sure the extra four are probably roosters, I'm not going to complain, I'll try to get some good pics up here tomorrow, they are very beautiful little chicks, easy to fall in love with that's for sure

The chicks are doing well and growing nicely now, I'm going to get some pics of them up on here tomorrow, there are some on my picassa site but they aren't the best in the world. They are very curios little chicks and pretty well mannered, our two beagle dogs are very interested in watching them but have no desire to mess with them as they seem to be somewhat terrified of them!
My guinea eggs are also occasionally making peeping noises at me! If all is well I will have some Keets come Sunday or Monday!

Beautiful chicks. We had some austrolorp roosters and our mixed chicks grew into very nice, meaty, large egg laying fiends. Didn't like the roosters much, though. They were pretty aggressive.

You know the cure for aggression. It usually involves fries on the side.

I have a few more Black Australorp chicks hatching out tonight - I like winter chicks, they always seem to be healther and it gives me something to do during the winter. Here's a pic of the proud parents I took a 250gal liquid tote and made a new brooder out of it - cheap and easy. I added a few pine shavings and a heat lamp and it turned out real good.
