Blue do you want to buy some Jungle Fowl. I have lost three hens in three nites so i separated and placed the three JF left in a rabbit cage. Since i knew that the rest of my flock would continue killing and eating if i did nothing so i telephone my MIL and she told me the only way she knew was to eat a lot of chicken as she had never heard of a cure. So i go online and check alots of sites and finally found a cure that sounds like it should work. It has been two weeks since i have lost any more chickens so i guess the cure works right. I wanted to post the cure in case this happens to others. The Wisconsin Experiment Station developed a "salt cure" in 1942 that is supposed to be 99% effective. For a single morning, replace the birds' usual water with water that has one tablespoon of salt added per gallon. Replace the salt water with fresh water in the afternoon. Repeat three days later. I have been feeding layer mash and scratch all year long and i would have figured that it would include enough salt but since the Jungle Fowl seem to like to fight and are not friendly with other chickens i should have known to sale them before now.

And just think Down, once you do get around to prepping them for eating, they are already Pre-Seasoned, LOL

Blue i know you told me several months ago to get rid of my Jungle Fowl but i thought i could raise and sell chicks for a nice profit. So now after killer dogs kill or release 9 of the 12 i had and then the remaining JF kill 3 of my remaining flock its looks like i either will be setting eggs or buying more chickens to replace my flock by spring. Go ahead Blue and ride me hard for being so stubborn LOL.My wife has already had her horse laugh at my expense. I know i donot want any Silkies after i found out they had black bones and were all dark meat.
