I went to a flea market today and they had all kind of animals there. I saw kid goat small pigs turkey geese duck peafowl rabbits and dogs. They thought higher of their chickens than i did. They wanted 12 dollars for a pair of a hen and rooster. I had never saw this breed before and they had all kinds of bandy even jungle fowl. I left like i came empty handed lol hoping for better next weekend at a flea market at a different town.

There was a man selling Wyandotte chickens. I had never heard of this breed and google them and i didnot see that it was a improvement on my mixed flocks.

I went to the flea market Saturday and came home with 8JUNGLE FOWL. chicks The man who was selling them wanted to go home as it was hot and sticky so he cut me a deal. I had gone pass his stand ans ask what he was selling them foir and he was too high at 3 dollars. i had looked at the rest of the flea market and it was getting close to dinnertime and 1 figger the peddlers had been there since 6 am so as i walked by him on the way to my truck he stopped me ans ask if i wanted them at 2 dollars andi talked him down to a buck and a half so i ended up bringing some more chickens home lol.

I bought eight of the chicks and did not know the first thing about them until i Google them. It looks like i have 4 pullets and 4 roosters. I am not pleased with how they are growing as they are not the same size now the biggest ones mite be close to a pound (1 rooster and 1 pullet only) the rest ranged down to less than a half of a pound. I have not decided if i want to keep them or not or i mite pair them up and carried back to the flea market and try to make a profit. They are still pretty wild so i donot know if that is their breeding or not but they seem to be healthy with no problems with pecking each other.

Obviously, you aren't happy with them. And I don't think they will calm down. Wild is part of their nature. Down, I'd say take them back to the flea market and sell them. You'll never make your money back that you spent feeding them, but perhaps you can find a breed you like? BTW, Wyandottes are one of my absolute favourite breeds. They are great egg layers and very docile birds to have around. hint hint

Blue i have a flock of mixed breeds already. The Jungle Fowl was a spur of the moment buy. I was not looking for a regular chicken breed when i bought them. One of my friend wanted to buy them to stock on his farm and allow city folk a chance to shoot them alone with the quail he has already stocked but i really do not want to do that but he offered me enough to make a little on them but if i get rid of them it will probably be at the flea market instead.

That what my DW says too. But you know how stupid men can be at times lol. I would send you a pair but i am afraid that customs would not like that.
