I was tempted to buy a Mason Jar of Shine in Florida in 1979. It had state tax stickers on it and full disclosure of contents. But the best part was the Warning sticker about smoking and open flames too close to the bottle, LOL

We have a company that sells so called white lightning here in CA. But, they do it all legal like, with proper controls and taxes paid. It is just like Everclear, very pure and clean. I don't see much point in it. I have looked into stills, just to distill water, mind you.

the way I see it if you want to distill something for home use just do it. Don't tell your family and friends. Just be resonable and responsible.

In France they have authorized small local distllers. People like bell4562, here, bring their harvest of fruits and they make alccol with them. We should have it here in North America...

I like to take cider and ferment it two ways. Ferment some using ale or pilsner yeast and ferment some with wine yeast.

My biggest dilemma is getting unpasteurized apple cider. You can't buy it in NY, even at an orchard.

Flower: just spit in the gallons, they won't be pasteurized anymore!

Having grown up largely in the Ozarks, I have seen and smelled it. It's illegal past a certain concentration, but a lot of people make it and are in technical violation of the law.

its ok if its pastuerized. You innoculate it with your own choice of yeast.
