The mead is fermenting away wonderfully, I will rack it for the first time tomorrow and am looking forward to it greatly. Also on the to do list for tomorrow are a batch of blackberry (from vinters harvest fruit) and a special "snozzberry" mix that I will be working with, these of course are just practice of course for this coming season where I will ferment every type of fresh and local fruit I can get my hands on. Something else to be addicted to working on I suppose!

The snozzberries taste list snozzberies......have you ever heard that line in Super troopers? I know its originally willy wonka, but I thought it was perfect for Super troopers.
Good job on the mead. I've never had it but it sounds tasty. I saw an article in mother earth I think about making peary....that sounds tasty too. Ferment on...

Oh man, I love super troopers. The first time I saw that movie when it first came out on DVD I was higher than a kite and I will never forget it, I woke up the next morning sore all over from laughter.
And Willie Wonka is another obsession of mine, the book and the great glass elevator along with the Gene Wilder version, and to an extent the newer Burton version. Gene Wilder is one of my favorite actors of all time, and though this makes me sound like a little girl, Pure Imagination almost brings me to tears still and the boat ride song seems to represent the other side of my personality to a T.
If I had money, lots of money, after I gave the majority of it away to people and organizations that needed it, I would spend the rest creating a "Bio-Dome" for my choclate factory to feed my community year round with fresh and organic produce. One can only dream. Of course you would all be welcome to be my Ompa Loompas'

Long live the Oompa Loompas!! I'm growing them this year! Alan, has my friend Chris been in contact with you about the mead? He does amazing things with mead and beer he brews at home.

Nope Julie, I haven't heard from Chris yet. My wines are doing wonderfully, the first two mead are finishing up nicely now, I'll probably throw some campden tablets in here in a couple of days and allow it to set for a week or so whereupon I will rack and bottle. The Snozzberry and Blackberry have slowed down fermentation as well.
The first two meads are registering about 17.4% alcohol right now.

Will do my friend.
Going to test out the first mead this weekend, though it isn't aged yet, the little sip I had on my birthday tasted just fine!

Haha - I watched Pineapple Express a few weeks ago. Funny.
I'd be an Oompa Loompa in a chocolate biodome at the drop of a hat!
Wish I could try some of that mead... sounds great!

I'm still holding out for that Ghostbusters III thing! Dad and I drank two of my large bottles of mead on Sunday to test it out, bad idea, Monday became useless! It did taste nice, a bit harsh because it wasn't aged, but not bad at all!

Well, aren't Mondays pretty much useless anyway?

True......I'm still not brave enough to try the Snozzberry yet for fear of loosing another Monday. BTW, has anyone here ever read Roald Dahl's biography and know what the meaning of Snozzberry is? If you get a chance look this up, it will forever change your perception of that classic scene from the Gene Wilder movie.
