Cattle panels for greenhouse table tops ... what a great idea! Never thought of that.
I am hoping to finally construct the greenhouse frame I purchased (a year and a half ago) up this summer. Was wondering what I would do for table tops ... think I have my answer!

Yep we use cattle panels held up with cinder blocks. We got the blocks for free from a friend who tore down a building a couple of years ago and just pick up 16 ft cattle pannels from the local feed store, they make great table tops for flats as well as large poted tomato plants in the winter and allow plenty of air circulation. The do allow things to dry out a little quicker but that isn't any big deal as long as you keep an eye on things.

My dad and Kim and I spent some time working on the new greenhouse here today. I got the baseboards on and bolted in for the most part, got to put the wiggle wire railing on tomarrow and spread some gravel around and go buy some more bolts, nuts and washers and install those, then I'll set the six 4 X 4" s and be on my way. I've still got to buy a load of gravel, some wire, a fuse box, stove pipe and all that good stuff that's going to still break the bank too.

Yeah, they should have contacted you to let you know it was backordered. Did you find out how long it would be before they get it out to you.
I definetly have fun with my greenhouses, but they can be a drain on the bank account trying to get them built.

hahah, I know how that is, I was out working on one of the endwalls of the new greenhouse here today and it was like 26 degrees outside! I got a little bit done, but it was entirely too cold to be doing much of anything outside today.
Once you get it up and going you'll have to post some pictures of it up here for us to check out along with all the beautiful seedlings you grow this year.
I hope you love your new greenhouse as much as I love mine, they really are a lot of fun and are also very addictive.

Hey CB, glad to hear it came in.
Sorry to hear winter finally arrived in Michigan. It's camped out down here, too (Ohio).
I hope we get a nice warm day real soon for you to put it up quick.

Resist the urge to do a "trial assembly" in the living room ... resist ... resist ...
