Bunkie, Use a piece of plastic sewer pipe for your form, and double thickness of newsprint. That's what is happening here for squash and melons. I do wish the weather would smarten up and co-operate. Just think of the jump you'll have on eating corn this summer. We tucked in some Bear Island corn, yesterday and it is about the same height.

We tucked in some Bear Island corn, yesterday and it is about the same height. sewer pipe! great idea! the cardoard rolls i was using bent and got messed up really fast! i have a few Bear Island seeds dave gave me. going to start them today...also readying to start squash and cukes today in paper pots. i'm very late in starting everything, on purpose. the last 2 years the weather patterns are really off. we're staying colder almost 2 months later than usual. it's like i've lost my knack for planning out the spring seeding, but it's not me, it's the weather. it's changing drastically. hmmm...val...by the looks of it, we may just leave the corn in the loft to grow!!! ;D
