LOL, they fly planes over our greenhouse and farm all the time, luckily, with my father and I on the local fire dept we know and are friends with most of the cops so they don't give us too much grief, but everytime they come to visit they make sure they give the greenhouse a once over.
Plus my business is called "Bishop's Homegrown" which apparently makes people think; "Homegrown what?" and I won't say that I didn't plan on that, because I did and knew it would get attention. However sometimes in town I hear crazy stories about myself, like the one that a weird guy down the road told a friend of mine that works at "The" (as in only one in town) gas station.
Basically, the jist of the story is, that he had walked the railroad tracks to get to my farm (my farm is located back a long lane off of the highway that follows some railroad tracks) and that once he got back here he claimed that "They have fields and fields of nothing but pot, more than a million dollars worth, and greenhouses of it too! Thats why the police don't mess with them, because they have paid them all off!" LOL, if I was growing that much Pot, I'd have a lot more money in my pocketts!
Alas, the truth is, I'm just a poor truck farmer, but the story was much more exciting than the truth!

LOL, same here, I've got long hair and a poney tail so I must be a "doper". It's funny, anytime someone has a problem with me or my opinions locally, the first thing out of their mouth is "he's a pot smoker and a drug dealer!". LOL.

But Alan, you are a dealer. These people have an addiction, and you supply their drug. It's just that the drug of choice here is seed. We all seem to have the habit. When we don't have seed, we are constantly searching-when that package comes we can't wait to tear it open, then we sow, and oh, when we get germination, how sweet it is...

I live in Northeast Illinois and travel to the Northwoods of Wisconsin each summer. While biking and running on warm summer days my senses are overwhelmed by the sweetest smell. I finally realized it is Comptonia peregrina. I am having quite a bit of trouble finding a way to purchase some. Does anyone have any ideas where or how to buy this.

Sweetfern is a myricacae ( the bayberry family). It is not a fern Plants are usually dioecious but sometimes monoecious. I guess you could harvest the spores after a...good joint of homegrown corn...tobaco, while flying high Here is a link with very nice pictures , including some of the fruits: ontariotrees.com/main/species.php?id=2081
