Update time.
I gained the initial few pounds back. I went from 235 at the start to 234 this morning. Here are my new measurements:
Chest: 48 1/4 Spare tire: 49 Waist: 45
So the difference is: 1 pound lost, 1/2" at the waist lost, 1" off the belly, and 3/4" gained at the chest. Yeah, the last one surprises me, too. All I can figure is that I pushed myself to the limit physically a few times in the last two weeks. My muscles respond quickly to increased activity. The downside is, due to the nature of my injury, the increased activity has also increased my symptoms of impending paralysis, so I'll not be pushing myself physically on the next round...
I find the transition easy on a psychological level. That is, I don't crave meats as I thought I would. On free days (Sundays,) I don't go hog wild, either - I actually have to remind myself to catch up on animal protein.

Good job Johno.
Previous stats:
Weight: 158 Chest: 37 Waist: 33 Hips and lardass: 41 Thigh: 23
Today 4/18
Weight: 155 Chest: 39 (I think this is just a difference in brassiers, not an actual gain in inches.) Waist: 30.5 Hips and L.A.: 40 Thigh: 22.5
Overall, I lost a bit. I had a decadent weekend or I would have done better. I'm going to try to start taking 45 min walks in the evening to see if I can't improve this at the next weigh/measure time.

It seemed to backfire on me, so I went back to my high protein ways. My weight re-stabilized afterwards, and I feel better.
Don't know about Michelle...

My hubby revolted about the first week of May and started eating processed crap in addition to the veg diet so I went back to cooking a diet w/ more meat included. I'm still trying to put more veggies into us; just had to compromise a bit. The good news is that we're eating our own veggies mostly at this point and are eating lots of fish on the grill. Johno, I know what you're saying. I'm one of those people who can go without too much protein, I think. Chuck is not. Maybe it's a male/female thing?

We still eat mostly vegetarian at our house, with much of our protein coming from fish, nuts and dairy. Of course, with Andre already in Sacramento, there isn't an adult male in the house to revolt when beef is not served. We do eat chicken, probably once every 10 days or so.
I think Michelle is right - there is a correlation between protein craving and gender.
