Hi, everyone.
First, I want to thank Alan for starting this board. Don't forget if you have any information about an heirloom organization or event this will be the place for it. That's something I insisted on, as AHSC supports all efforts made on behalf of our edible heritage.
A little something about us.
AHSC was started four years ago by myself and two others who had been part of an informal network of people who collected Kentucky family heirlooms. When we decided to formalize the network we realized that it wouldn't work for a single state.
The mountain south, however, shares a culture, particularly in what and how they grew edible plants. So we expanded to include all states in the mountain south. And, because of the unique migration patterns of the 18th century, we include Missouri as well.
But everyone is welcome. In addition to our region, we have members in 12 other states and two foreign countries.
If you want membership information just contact us at KentuckySeeds@hotmail.com, and I'll get a brochure right out to you.
And, of course, if you have specific questions about us and what we do, just post 'em here, and I'll answer as best I can.
