What are Border Potatoes? Snowblind humor... he was referring to Yankees vs Rebels/North vs South etc... I really think their significant compatibility issues. But I am not sure. WU you may consider contacting Ken Pecota at NCSU who works on the sweet potato program. He would likely know. He may be slow to respond by email. Wild I Batatas are diploids and 2n = 30 I. pandurata 2n = 30 chromosomes. So there is some possibility there but Ken could speak more to your questions.
