In 2007, Wendy grew out the pumpkin seed stock at her Ontario farm. I had planted some too, but it did not grow successfully.
This year I planted some on June 13. Most of the seeds I planted were my own from 2006. I planted a few of Wendy's 2007 pumpkin seeds too; only one grew (but there are still many more of the 2007 seeds).
In addition to 2008 being an excellent year, I think that part of the success was in planting them later. Last two years, I planted them too early.
This offshoot I have labeled the "F-13" sub-population because I planted the seed on Friday the 13th.
