This is Bubbles, a doe that inhabits the cedar woods on the east side of my farm. We've been watching her since she was a fawn. This is her third winter now. I saw her this morning, skittering across the wheat field with a group of her friends. It looks like hunters got her fawn, as I didnt see it with her. The fawn was her first and was a normally coloured deer. A neighbour got some nice photos of Bubbles in early November. We know of one other piebald deer on the Island. This fall I spotted a magpie crow in my cornfield. It's markings were the opposite of a bald eagles (black head and tail, body white). It was part of a large flock of crows and it was very noticable. These wonderful animals add to the mysticism of this Island. Enjoy.
