Hi Jonny, I love cowpeas, due to the summer heat here, I simply can not grow, English peas, nor snow peas. They seem to always just give up. Now cowpeas, that is another ballgame. I downloaded the file above, and can't open it. What program is this made with? Do you sell seeds? I saw lots on your list, and not just cowpeas, that are on my wishlist. Thanks,

Mary Ann:The file opens with microsoft excel, or open office (a free download if you don't have it). You could try changing the file extension from xls to csv, and see if it will open that way for you.

Yes, Johno I did try them. But, it seems that every time I try to grow english peas we don't have a spring. We go from freezing to hot. Then the years, that I don't try.. due to lack of success. We get a nice long spring. For instance, 2009 would have worked great. But, I always seem to guess wrong. I have pretty much given up on bulb onions and green peas. There are so many things that grow well for me, that I just gave up on the hopelessly hard ones. For now.
Thanks Dan, I thought I had all those readers, I must have missed excel. We have two computers, and sometimes I download to one, and not the other.. Guess I missed that on this computer. I recently downloaded powerpoint, it isn't hard to do. So I am off to find downloadable readers...

I downloaded the excel viewer. I can see it! Thanks guys, I honestly thought I already had it, on here, and that is why I thought, what program can this be? Too bad they don't simply make them so that you can read all programs without readers! Looks like someone did alot of work on this database.

jonnyyuma,
I see you have grown multiple types of the Mayo Colima.
What did you think of them? Any specific one you could recommend?
I have thought about growing them since my wife originates from the Mexican state of Colima, even though it appears the cowpeas are from a different state.
thanks,
Dean

Hello Dean, I liked the Mayo Colima Speckled the best. I selected out into two different pea colors and am now working on getting the pod length up. I think I got my seeds from Native Seed Search. Also should try Mt. Pima Yori Muni. Yielded very high for me.
