I would like to grow a long keeping onion, preferably white peel, medium size (can be round or flatten or elongated shape) and sweet tasting... any good suggestions fellow gardener ?

Long day, short day or intermediate?
Most of the 'storage' onions are yellow/brown, with a few reds thrown in...few of the storage ones are white-skinned. How long do you want to keep them for?

Out of the top of my head, I would recommend SOUTHPORT WHITE GLOBE, a very good keeper. I know Reimers sell it, probably many others as well

Mjc, like you have said yellow is is the storage type... most storage onions sold here are yellow which I don't like (not really hate it just prefer the white one which is milder and sweeter). We have long days during summer just like the north part of US. Long day, short day or intermediate? Most of the 'storage' onions are yellow/brown, with a few reds thrown in...few of the storage ones are white-skinned. How long do you want to keep them for? Michel, thanks ! Have you any experience with Blanc de Paris Hatif and White Ebenezer onion ? I am also thinking about white Sturon, if I can get some seeds.

There are a few good white keepers...but storage quality is inversely proportional to sweetness.
Sterling...a white globe, hybrid. Kelsae...a while globe, moderate storage, HUGE.

White Ebenezer would be a good storage onion for your Long-Day conditions. However, best results would be obtained by planting seeds first for sets and then for larger bulbs the following year.
