Not just so all those seeds everyone here was nice enough to send to me or trade with me, but because Saturday I recieved the Kazakistani wild apple scion wood that Phillip Forsline from GRIN Geneva sent me. These are "elite germplasm" lines that have already been selected for disease and pest resistance (almost no instances of fire blight at all) as well as for flavor. In Phillip's words, "these could be released as cultivars tommorrow and you could have these apples on supermarket shelves as soon as the trees bear" Happy me!

Alan,
Are you going to graft them? I'd beg for some scion wood from you, but I just don't have the room.
Do keep us posted about them.
