fall 2010/spring 2011 Two years ago Jack White, my singe white tomato introduction pulled a fluke on me. I got a potato leafed plant, before fruiting I presumed it was a cross to The Pink Floyd, Black Brandywine, or possibly Hoskins Barger Pink/Yellow, however it fruited white....one plant mind you. Last year I grew just a couple seed due to space constraints and not wanting to waste space on an unproductive potato leaf plant that was probably just an accidental cross, however, the plants came back potato leaf, all of them, with white fruit! Now, I know how I just said in an interview I was done with tomatoes, but this one for all intents and purposes will be released as a sister line to Jack White, and since it is a white tomato, derrived (probably by somatic mutation which explains it's stability) from Jack White, I think it is only appropriate to name it Meg. Enjoy the 10 Hip-Gnosis tomato releases, because unless something changes I've gotta invest more time in other veggies!

Very cool! Do you have any pictures of said tomato? I'm sure Jim will be interested in this one.
On a side note, i swiped some of your hip-gnosis cabbage projects from Jim and plan to grow a few this year (Early Jersey Wakefield, Red/Golden Acre).

Will do my friends! All names on the list and it looks like between you guys and starting a seed company/offering varieties to a couple existing companies I might just have to produce a couple of ounces of seed!

O O O, me too, me too One of my dog's name is Meggie (she is a Scottish Terrier) and she loves tomatoes, so wouldn't it be nice for her to have a tomato of her own? ;D

And, by the way, some pictures would really be appreciated, Alan. It is nice to know what to expect when the tom 'grows up'

Glad to see the excitement over the tomato my friends.
I will get some pics of all of the seed varieties this coming year as well as of the many, many, breeding projects as we now have a "full time" photographer in the form of a family friend who recently retired.
