I'm not a corn specialist, but I will be receiving some seeds from the Arche Noah-archives, and the thing is called 'schafzahnmais', translated that's sheep's-tooth corn. I wondered if there's an English name for this one...The only pictures I've found are here (you have to scroll down a bit, it's the fourth one listed and if you click on the pictures you get some info and more pictures, if you scroll down again:

Does anybody have some more info, or even grown this out ? If anybody is interested I can translate the German information...
