While driving through the fruit orchards of Vineland, ON on my way to Seedy Saturday Niagara, I noticed a sign for Cherry Concentrate for Arthritis Relief. Never having heard of this before, I started researching this when I arrived home. I was wondering if anyone here had any first-hand knowledge of this through personal use? Even perhaps by a loved one or close friend? The first link is the actual farm that I first noticed the sign at. www.cherrylane.net/health-benefits-cherry-juice.phpThe next article is from Indiana and speaks of the Michigan cherry farms and research done on this subject in the state of Michigan. www.fourseasonsvirtualassistance.com/page/tart-cherriesI'm going to give this remedy a try. I've begun to experience pain and swelling in my elbows. And Paintman has has arthritis in his hands for several years now. Other remedies are doing less and less for him. Cherry juice is at the very least, a much tastier option than Glucosamine and Chondroitan...

Eating Stinging Nettles is supposed to also be good for helping with Arthritis internally. Plus it's very nutritious.

Blue, I had a friend who was the hell of a sport guy, an athlete even at 60 years old. But he could not play hockey anymore cause arthritis was taking care of his legs, he could barely walk.
He went on a dried cherries diet , something like 12 a day,and now has resumed playing hockey...

That sounds encouraging Michel. TY! I'll see what is more convenient for Paintman; dried cherries or the concentrate? Then I'll let you know in a few weeks if he is making progress..No wait. Not if...What kind of Progress. Positively!

We bought Concentrate and a tub of dried cherries this afternoon. And it takes so good, that he didn't even need a Spoonful of sugar to make the medicine go down. Day One and counting the days to healthier hands.

Bluey: A word of caution with cherry juice = too much at once, and you won't want Paintman to lose sight of the bathroom. Not really a laxative, but he might want to be careful about coughing hard. The same sort of reaction you would get from eating a lot of cherries at once.

Grunt, I agree the cherry juice can go right through in and you don't want to drink any when you are on a long trip (been there and done that) not the smartes thing to do. My grandfather was a cherry father in Michigan until his death and my uncles sold his property, but I remember him telling me when I was growing up how cherries helped his arthritis and maybe that is why I enjoy the cherry so much. But anyway, I stopped drinking the cherry juice and started taking the cherry capsules from Fruit Advantage and they work so much better without the gas. Anyway, ifyou want to learn more about the health benefits of the cherry and cherry juice and cherry capsules you can get a free cherry book from Traverse Bay Farms www.traversebayfarms.com I visited them last year and they told me about this book and its a pretty good book. My grandpa would be proud knowing the cherries are now help a lot of people with gout and arthritis pain.

Thanks Cherrylover, but I'd rather not have to pay Shipping and Customs on supplements. Especially when I live in the Niagara fruitbelt and have easy access to locally grown fruit and byproducts.
And actually, Paintman takes a lot of fruit with him on the road, especially dried fruits. They don't bruise as easily as fresh fruit does when it gets bounced around in the cab of the truck. But I appreciate your concern, Dan!
