Another sign of spring = my memory goes for a dippy drive. I sent stratcat some seeds for a 4H project = only problem is, he doesn't have one, and the seeds were meant to go to someone else who does, and I can't remember who. If we promised you seeds for a 4H project this year please speak up. And just to keep in the spirit of the thread, we've been hitting 15 to 18 C (~55 to 65 F) for the last 10 days, but still hitting below freezing almost every night. I love the weather, but I'm afraid all of the trees are going to wake up and start budding too soon. If we get frost after they bud, no fruit in the orchard. Cheers

Trees are just swelling around here. The daffodils are getting ready to explode. I'm worried bout the asparagus though. We mushed it with pine needles and now I'm wondering if that was a bad thing. Last year asparagus was popping up in January, now there is no sign of it.

Last year we had temps in the 95 to 100 degrees for nearly three weeks that is way to hot most years it is in the 65 to 85 degree range. we are about 10 miles from Cathederal grove which is a very lush rain forest and about 10 min. from the ocean . Mild weather all year round most years thats if you don't mind lots of rain

Spring is definitly here in the Southwest of Britain, Snop Drops, Daffodills and Primroses blooming. Just waiting for less frosts, so I can start planting more in my garden, very excited, will be my first year growing and (hopefully) harvesting stuff. ;D

Wolf - I know the area well. I was born in Victoria and lived my early years in the land of perpetual spring, ie. the Island.
Mortality - Sounds lovely. Funnily enough I also lived in the UK (southeast and the midlands) for many years and remember the sight of trees raining pink petals onto the bulbs below. Beautiful.
Here we have snow - 6inches to 2 feet normally but there are melt marks at the edges and tree hollows spreading out from the trunks. Perma-smiles are also spreading with the warmer weather and sunshine.

Getting better here. Highs in the 50's cept Friday which is forecast to be 61 degrees with thunder showers. We don't really need rain yet but I won't complain much since the temp for this time of year is better. But we are hitting the 30's at night and will go down to the 40's for highs next week. Beats the heck out of 20's and teens though.

Getting worse here. Just when I thought Spring was finally here as all the snow melted, we got 20 cm of new snow over night and the darn thing won't stop falling... Oh, I hope the sun will come soon and melt it all away...

The dryer lint I put out for the birds is disappearing,I guess they are starting?Other than the buds swelling on the trees , not to much spring like stuff happening in my garden but up in the woods the trillium's are showing,I marked them so I know just where they are.

Spring is here in Lewiston. The daffodills are blooming and the birds ate half the buds on my new Asian pear trees so I don't have to worry about the frost getting them. My early peas, lettuce, swiss chard, beets, and spinach are sprouting outside. I need to get busy planting other stuff. Just planting my pepper and tomato seeds inside now and I feel like I'm behind.
