Anything you want to know about the Winter Sowing Germination Method you can find at WinterSown.Org. There are illustrated FAQs about the method, seed saving and online seed trading, there is a photo gallery, a zone by zone seed list database, and free seed offers. It's a labor of love and a website that I frequently add new content to, I hope you'll come and visit the site. wintersown.org/Trudi

We had a lot of fun winter sowing with a Girl Scout troop about 15 years ago. We spent a few meetings digging jugs out of the snow so that the girls could be reassured that they weren't missing anything. It was by far the most interesting thing we did that year.

This is a great activity for kids and for adults too--it really helps dispel the winter blues.

This is a seriously 'cool' thing to get into! I was and remain excited about winter sowing for its eye on low input - space and money - gardening techniques.
