Those spuds in the cooker are beautiful.
Um, you do realize those critters have their eyes open, so not so sleeping, yes? Sweet to see them so companionable.

thanks holly, steev! it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here...starting to snow again...cold coming in, too...time to freshen up everyone's beds for the cold coming in...lizzie in between the snowflakes... sammy watching his 'flock'... ducks discovering fresh bed of hay in their cabin...noisy appreciation... pete patiently waiting for me to bring the wheelbarrow around... pete yawning, very bored...'let's get this show on the road'... pete loves to ride in the wheelbarrow... thelma's not impressed with the new bedding in their cabin...but... Louise is ecstatic... sammy checking out the apple trees...apples still aren't falling off by themselves. this is the third year they've done this. we have to knock them off the branches in the fall for a few bushels for keeping...actually, sammy's looking for the deer that come in at night to look for fallen apples... kidz waiting in the snow...for a ... last run to the barn in the snow... every single animal on the farm, including the ducks, always has one of their feet on my boots, no matter where i go...this one here is pete's...

Yeah, why do they step on you!
Have a happy white Christmas! You mean Thelma & Louise haven't tried to drive the tractor to the apple trees?
Leo's goat used to always get in the truck if you left the door open.

here we go again... orchard... front porch... tractor...someday we'll have a shed to keep this in, out of the snow... even sammy's buried... cleaning duck path... ducks buried... liz helping dig out duck pens... duck feeder on left buried.... see the little chicadees, bottom middle and top right...they are in huge numbers here this year and have discovered the duck feeder...i think our big ole ducks are scared of them... ducks' feeder cleaned out and path to the pond dug... YAY roof rake... louise and thelma waiting for us to clean the snow off their alfalfa bale finally... i bet you're all wondering where pete was today...he was trying his hand...er...paw at making a snowman... everyone was pretty tuckered out by the end of the day...

Bunkie, this is Nanook, the Turkish Angora, we took him up to the snow and he refused to go out in it. He went out and hid under the porch. Petey is very brave and clever. Now, that's a lotta snow you are sporting! Attachments:

Bunkie, that's not a cat. That's a dog. He's the most un-catlike cat I have ever had. I don't know what we'd do without him. He's a never ending surprise. Since he's from the Ankara region of Turkey, we thought surely he would love the snow. But he doesn't have Petey's gumption.

yeah, pete thinks he's a dog too...then the goats think they are too... ;D
pete just showed up one day at our door, a kitten. i think that's why he's so 'rugged' now, on his own when young!

You can't really tell from Holly's photo, but Nanook is the world's biggest cat, or so it seemed to me.
