Hi, I just joined today after you folks were recommended by some UK friends from another forum . I recognise some names... Hi you guys!!
Bit about me.. born in the UK , moved to Canada in 77, moved back to the UK in 2000 but could not settle so back home to BC in 2009. I made some super gardening friends over there.
My hobbies.. well most everything I think, I love to quilt, and like anything porcelain that I can put in a kiln, so I china paint, and do dolls. I knit, my favourite is making Shetland Heirloom Christening Shawls, in 1 ply pure cobweb wool from the Shetland Isles, callled ring shawls as the finished shawl will pass through a womens wedding ring. I make teddies and gollies and also enjoy minature knitting.
Gardening of course, my passion being tomatoes and winter squash with beans coming up a close third. I seem unable to grow flowers LOL.
Sadly no pets anymore, but I used to have Pekes, Pugs and OES, which I showed way back.
Me in a nut shell I think.
So thank you for inviting me in , I shall look forward to meeting you all.
For my friends who see my name.. I could not get Jeannine as it has already gone so I settled for XX Jeannine which as you know it is how I always sign off anyway.
XX Jeannine

You won't be new for long - people here are very friendly - and there seems to be someone new here every day. (I was the new one quite recently!)

Pleased to virtually "meet" you, Jeannine. I'm south of you down in Seattle. Depending on which side of the mountains you're on, we might have similar climactic issues.

nice to meet you here. Have read your posts in the other place and especially about your generous parcel. You will like it here. Not tough to be the new kid, not here.
How do you stop one ply wool from twisting? Sounds like your eyesight must be spectacular and probably your patience too. I crochet pot holders for presents, that's my skill level. Well not much more anyway.
Welcome!

Heartwarming to see folks from BC, I have little plots of earth to play in Langley and the Gulf Islands but I am really a rank beginner gardener bent on permaculture despite knowing little. Oh and horses, pfft, that is somewhat a huge contributor to my compost pile.
