I live right on the Puget Sound in Western Washington South of Seattle North of Olympia ..right smack a beautiful temperate micro climate.. I have for the first time this year grown a perpetual garden this year! I grew, ate, had flowers and fragrance in my garden for 12 months as of this past March!
I am so excited I needed to share with someone and this place seems so ..well ..nice!!!
I have a half acre on a bluff ..so my yard is litterally straight up a hill facing west .... I look out at the Olympic Mountains..it is a magnificant place and I feel so lucky to be here.
I have six laying hens, 2 pit bulls, 2 parrots, a husband and some fish
also a grandson who is the light of my life and a natural in the garden ...
we have 16 raised beds and every year I start off trying to make some order in my disordered brain ...and vowing to do a square foot garden perfectly in at least in one of the beds..it never happens ..I move plants dump seeds and end up with what I get! Usually I am very successful but have no idea what I am doing and have been gardening for many decades!
I adore growing flowers as much as food and when you can eat the flowers it is even better

just so much info here on this board! OMG I am ever amazed at just how much I do not know
my goal this year are cucurbits something I have really struggled with ..so I am hoping to gather enough info to do well this year with them
I would also like to say since I see so many Canadian's here
I am half Canadian! My family are both from Montreal and Vancouver and I spend a ton of time up in the VanCouver area ..I grew up on the East Coast and then moved here with my husband in both places ...half my life was spent hopping back and forth across the boarder ..I feel so lucky having both countries such a part of me ..most of the time I like one over the other far more ...but because I want everyone to love me ...I will never tell which one ( ;D)
