Just got back from a weekend in Columbus OH for the Mini Lop National Show, that's as in rabbits. My husband raises and shows them, I go along to drive him as he falls asleep at the wheel if he has to drive for more than 2 hours. And rabbit poo is the best stuff in the world, but I may have mentioned that a time or two. Anyway, at the banquet we sat at the table with a couple from Quebec, Monique & Gus. They travel to many shows in the US as there isn't much competition in Canada, according to Gus. It's funny to get the perspective of someone from another country, though I know Canada isn't too far off. Cheap imports from China were really pissing Gus off, the same as we feel here. And there were some delicious multi-grain dinner rolls, Monique ate them, but kept saying 'sweet', and not in a good way. I am afraid that if our Candian friends are able to make it to southern IN for our get together, we may kill them with sugar!!!

NO WAY KAREN! I SHALL COME TO RESCUE AND PROTECT OUR SOVEREIGN FRENCH CANADIAN FRIENDS FROM BEING OVER SUGARED AND UNDER BREADED!!! well, unless we try to fry them... ;o)
Hey I live in a place that caters to the tastes of kids that eat nothing but Wonder bread, store bought tomatoes and cheap hot dogs. Not even GOOD hot dogs... I make bread with only flour, water, and salt. Sometimes I add a touch of flax or whole wheat. I make pastries with much less sugar than called for, my "big batch" cookies have a third less sugar than the standard recipes.
It is true, Americans eat sugar like a dog drinking water from a toilet bowl and it's KILLING us!
ok... where is that darned soapbox when you need it? ::wanders off::

One of the reasons why there aren't many livestock competitions in Canada is simply, we have a Tenth of the population of the U.S. Large shows are always in the U.S. because there are many more people to support them. Up here, it can be harder than pulling hens teeth to get a Poultry Show together of 400 birds. Yet we competed in a Poultry Show in Indianapolis in 2006 that had 11,614 birds...
And yes, we have Wonder Bread and processed cheese slices...aside from population and a different government, life here is pretty much the same as it is in Indiana.

Wonder bread and all it's kin should be destroyed! YUCK! That's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it!

Is it called Wonder Bread because you wonder what it's connection is with bread?

Precisely! It's actually more closely related to sheet rock (a building material used to make interior walls).
