When it rains, it pours... Not only does the apple have fire blight, it has Plum Curculio attacking. I can't even pronounce the name! From what I've gathered so far, this is a very serious pest in our area and like the fire blight, the opportune moment to take action against it has passed by about a month.

I really need your help on this one. Most of the EDU stuff recommends chemical controls. Hope I can get something else. Thanks!

Jo - A developing farmer based on Bible teachings. Diversity, research, and chemical independence are key. Our top soil is about 12 to 18 inches of depleted sandy loam. Under that is a layer of light colored clay. Our sons will soon have more information as they learn to dig deeper and deeper holes.

You would have to put them on early for plum curculio - I say go for pigs
	Garden is a clearing in the woods grading from shallow, rocky soil supporting a maple bush to a pine forest planted on sandy soil and a clay bottomland with spruce and tamarack.
