Was away which will not be the only time this summer. Here's my favourite gardening quotation of late - apparently an African proverb.
"When is the best time to plant a tree?"
"When is the second best time?"
"Now."

Welcome back. Around here, the answer to the first question is "30 years ago." When Mom hit 65, she and I planted a little over 300 trees.

Wondered where you were. You haven't talked to Michel lately have you? He seems to have disappeared. How is your land hunt going? Hope your weather is nice for the garden. Here is has been hotter than fire, the humidity is terrible. Not exactly condusive to tidy gardening. I may just have to bushhog the whole thing before the get together so people won't see just how lazy I am.

He's suffered from a computer meltdown but I got the impression that he would be back online soon. His research garden is up and running.
We are getting warm, pleasant weather at the moment but some plants are fainting anyhow. Things are way ahead of schedule this year.
