This one has me guessing. Purple turnip? No, the top looks not quite right - such lush white leaf midribs? Some agricultural root for animal fodder? Looks too good to be fed to the pigs. Like the tops and the root would be used for different dishes altogether. Definitely not Swede. Got to be turnip ......
What is it? Please put me out of my misery.

Purple Kohlrabi? rough guess but just from the top of the plant it is all I got....although the stalks are not quite purple and the side stalks/leaves are missing....

Here's what my garden was producing last week. Add cabbage to that today. Regards, Joseph

Love the purplish onions Joseph. What is the variety? Looks really too good to eat. Yum Variety unknown... I go into the farm co-op and ask for yellow onion sets and for purple onion sets. They put them in a brown paper bag with no label on them and send me out the door. The purple color (right now) is only one or two layers deep, so I have to be careful when washing them that I do not peel off all the purple. I think I remember that by the time they have dried down they are purple all the way through. (The purple onions are too strong for my family's taste, so I only grow them for others, I don't eat them myself.) Regards, Joseph

Joseph, bet they sell well. Exceptionally pretty. There is a spring onion with a red base, Santa Clause, which I love. Bunkie, nice garlic! I have dug mine too, apart from one type. Here are my Elephant Garlics. The bucket is standard builder's bucket size. [/img] Attachments:
