How about this www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjzsG5ffIrYI acctually cringe a little when I hear this song, due to the fact that when I was a kid, my sister (who is five years younger than me) was in her Raffi period and I had to hear the damn thing OVER and OVER and OVER again. my apologies also for the juvenile video that accopanies it, but I literally could not find a version that didn't have one (like many an old folk song it's mantinence is in the realm of childrens entertainment)

While it's not really garden/agriculture related this is what has been inspiring me lately: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1eqA681el4Elephant Micah/Joe Oconnel is a good friend of mine from high school, a wondeful songwriter, be sure to check out some more of his stuff. He gets what this place is all about in a way that I doubt many others, even those who live here ever have or ever will.

Dust Bowl Refugee by Woody Guthrie www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_ehYkr0NhUI like the whole Woody Guthrie album "Dust Bowl Ballads" and it's a great political/historic reference to the desertification of N America (the dust bowl).

Oh, I just remembered "Leekspin", though why it is called that remains a mystery. Very funny piece of Finnish folk singing and may be going round your head all day long. You have been warned ..... www.youtube.com/watch?v=53tq9g35kwk

'K I just went to Galina's link about leekspin and discovered another corner of pop culture that until moments ago was in the shadow for me. Yes, apparently, Leekspin is a thing in anime I saw various versions (okay, only parts of them - I do have a life - well my non gardening friends might disagree but ahoo) which warned of 'leekspinning.' How about the ditty 'Hot Potato'. Telsing

I know a verse from "Others are Following You," that's a bit reminiscent of "Rickety Tickety Tin."
"Please don't dismember your father And leave him all over the shed. He was a tidy man all of his life, and should remain so when he's dead. Gather him into a garbage bag; Remember, the pickup's at two. Please leave the garden shed just as you found it For others are following you.
(Refrain: Just because you're a fratricide, It doesn't mean that you can be untidy Make the world a nice place to live, For others are following you!)

Nice job bob, and I agree very much like "The Irish Ballad" ("Rickety, Tikety Tin's" orginal title, back when Tom Lehrer wrote it)
