I have a few lettuce mixes growing. Some are getting ready to flower. Is lettuce a big out-crosser? I'm leaving the pollination to Mother Nature.

Cultivated lettuce is strongly self pollinating. Percent of hybrids from mixed planting should be low to very low. Pollinators can make a difference.

Thanks, Pierre. I'll save them separately and see what I get next yr. I had Redina self sow this yr and the plants were beautiful.

I quite like the way that red and purple leafed lettuce look in seed. Someone described them as lettuce christmas trees.
