I and two of our daughters went today to look at a property. The house looked very ugly from the picture online, and I didn't think there would be any point in going. Well, I was liking it right from the driveway, which was a secluded little drive through the woods, which opened up to a nice sized clearing with plenty of level gound. Small house, and a 30x40 building. Small pond, and Paktoka river through it. It pretty much has everything we would need. I really didn't expect to find something so quickly. When I really think about moving, I am not sure I want to leave the place that has been home for most of my life. But this 35 acres just may be our new home. There are a couple of different ways to get there, and one of them includes a drive through a creek, without a bridge. How cool is that? ?

I suppose you could measure the "coolness" as dependent on the time of year. ;D Congrats on the find! I'm interested to see some pics if you have time. How far will you be from your family?

The place is about 10 miles from town, and if we did it, it would be a joint purchase with our daughter & her husband, the parents of Charlie, our first grandchild. Maybe one other daughter, maybe all 3 of them. No way would I be moving away from Charlie! Daughter bought our neighbors place, so I only live a few hundred feet away from him now. But, I doubt that we will buy this place. It is a little far away for my huband and SIL while they are still working, and school, and the price is too high for what it is. Wish there weren't already a house there, it would be better to start from scratch. And it may be harder for me to leave my established plantings than I thought it would be.

I know what you mean about leaving established plantings. I will miss my garden.
