So... I was looking for hardware cloth to use in raised beds, for that garden program I'm doing at Harrison's school. I was intrigued by some heavy plastic mesh, marked "hardware cloth" at the store. I've only ever seen it made of wire, before. Now, we are trying to prevent ground squirrels from digging to the plants from underneath, but the typical wire screening I'm used to can be difficult to work with. I don't want the kids to get hurt. The plastic stuff seems like a good way to go safety wise, but I'd love opinions re: it's efficacy. Anyone used it?
