fusionpower, I was very lucky to get a copy when the paperback reprints came out first and it is treasured. Copies are getting very expensive to buy now. Similarly the following book: www.archive.org/details/vegetablegardeni00vilmrichThis is the European counterpart. Equally fascinating, excellent reading, gardening and seedsaving tips. And most importantly a wonderful list of what cultivars were available to gardeners of the time.

Ok, folks...here's the deal...
I've been downloading tons of books from Project Gutenberg, Archive.org, The Biodiversity Library and Google Books. I'm at nearly a DVD's worth (4.4 GB). Over the next couple of weeks I will arrange and compile the disk, including an index (file name and title of the book), along with the necessary reader software (free, Open Source versions). I will make them available for postage or seeds (about $3 US will cover postage and the price of the blank disk). Everything on the disk will be public domain or a shareable copyright (Creative Commons).
A couple of things that will be included are several versions of the Vilmorin book, the 1936 and 1937 USDA Yearbooks, tons of apple and fruit books...and much, much more.

Yeah talk about expensive, I haven't been able to get a copy because of the price. Thanks for the link fusionpower. I've been pouring over this book, there's a lot of great info in there. Who knew? Oca historically was in the states.
