This always happens to me. I trip upon a plant that I then spend precious time googling a source for. The last three were:
Red Mulberry - Morus Rubra Silver Thistle - Carlina acaulis Any bunching onion with red bases.
Sigh.

That's the kind. I think I've seen something similar listed as Red Beard as well: www.evergreenseeds.com/buonredbe.htmlBut seriously, I'm the ONLY person who is covetting plants?? Me, the only one? Really?

Wow! I've never seen this one. However, I CAN vouch for Evergreen Seeds. I have purchased from them in the past and what we've received has been reliable.

You are definitely not the only one coveting plants.
I love alliums but have done terrible with my attempts to grow them. I am trying to get some example of all the different types I have read about.
I need to find me some potato onions. I have some shallots and walking onions. Joseph has armed me with his Landrace onion which i am excited to grow. I plan do better with planting leeks this year. I would love to get a hold of some ramps. They are supposed to grow around where I live but my job keeps me from going out to forage for some and I don't know where I would begin to look without risking trespassing. There was a neat little wild garlic growing on my median from which I took some bulbils and am messing around in my garden. Bunching onions have been on my radar but i want to save som space for all the other plants I want to grow this year.
I have been swapping here and trying to fill out my needs for an herb garden. Lots of things to covet there. I am going to try my hand at a bunch of different basil varieties this year.
I have been coverting bushel gourds which I hope to growto see if I can use them for water collection in place of a barrel or plastic container.
I also have big plans to put in a bunch of different berries in my back yard. I am hopinh to transplant some of my Grandma's red raspberries, some asparagus crowns that have been on my great grandpa's farm to my new back yard and by some black berries, currants, blueberries, alpine strawberries and gooseberries too. I am hoping to cram all these into my suburban lot.
With regard to the berries I don't have specific cultivars in mind. I am thinking Red Lake for the currants. Gooseberries I have found available seem to be all Pixwell. Those are the only one's I have tried.

I have lots of Red Mulberry seeds, I saved the seeds form my entire trees harvest last year, I don't think I ate even one berry from it you were looking for seeds and not plants, right ? how many seeds did you want ? just a few, or lots ?
I can send them out in about 2 weeks (they are likely hard to find and I will be indexing my seeds soon)

Nopers, I just bought strawberry seed. In defense, I am low on fruits. We have lots of mulberries in the side yard and bunches in the park near us (we have picked bags of them and made jam before! tip: you want to strain the seeds and stem bitties out, theyre kinda gross cooked!)

I knew there were others! You know castanea I am going to look at your link in one second after I finished replying... that's the kind of plant person I am. Leenstar: I haven't checked your profile, but if you are in Canada then I could send you a few ramp bulbs in the spring. Alternatively, I can send you seeds in the fall but they take awhile to get going. I have a few sources on various multilplier/potato onion too for Canadians if you need them. Red Lake is a good currant variety in my experience whereas Pixwell doesn't ring too many people's bells. Generally it's not too hard to find descent mail order varieties of Gooseberry around here. There are a bunch of Ribes varieties in my new place so I'm going to wait to find out what they are before ordering. I just started three kinds of strawberry seeds garnetmouth Spacecase: PM sent - thank you.

I'm pretty bad about seeing various plants that i just have to have four years ago it was Tamarillo tree seed along with a purple passion fruit seeds, now I'm not so sure I need them as they take up so much space in side during the winter although this time around I cut them way back. I love various onions and garlics Baker's Creek has a good selection, I wish he would offer some ramp seeds, I have a couple wild types that I keep going. This year I may just let them go and cross breed just to see what i might end up with. George W.
