I am interested in growing table grapes and suitable varieties for drying in the Pacific Northwest. I live on the crest of a southern exposed hillside, the soil is clayish so may need ammending but I am a few doors from Domaine de Chaberton vineyard who established in this location after 9 generations growing in france and their own very careful selection of this hillside to grow white wine grapes and establish their winery and thus think there would be a table grape varieties suitable for our temperate rainforest type climate. I would appreciate recommendation of table grape varieties that would do well in my climate and also those particularily good for drying for storage as raisins and baking would be appreciated if anyone has ideas. So far I planted a red flame and a concord that produce here and other varieties I no longer remember have failed miserably.

I prefer Interkalen over Himrod for green seedless grapes/raisins. Better taste and higher productivity in my garden.
What's your USDA zone?

I can send you some cuttings of our muscadines. You need to have male/female to produce fruit and I have 2 females and 1 male plant. Muscadines are native grapes, have seeds, tend to grow larger than European grapes, excellent flavor for eating fresh or making jam. PM me, we are pruning them on Saturday.

I am in zone 7b in coastal south British Columbia which is cool wet for much of the year and rather moderate temperatures , thank you for your kind offer mnjrutherford but I am in Canada so would likely need certificate stock to cross the border ? I am happy with the recommendations and I will look for them in the spring. I am going to try to root some extra concord cuttings also since they grow well for me .

It's possible that you would need some sort of certificate. Tell you what, keep the offer in mind. Trimming happens this time of year. If you don't get a better offer, check into the laws. Maybe a certificate won't be that difficult or expensive to do. If you can pay for the certificate, I can handle the postage.

So true so true! Well, there will be more cuttings in late summer so all is not lost in any case. There will also be thornless blackberry cuttings.
