I really wish there was a food section on how to prepare and eat foods we grow
I was wondering about corn sprouts! of all the grains beans and peas I have sprouted and enjoyed I have never tried sprouting corn to eat ..
has anyone here done this? if so can you tell me how good they are or not?
it is so nice to have that sprout garden in the winter for fresh veggies but be careful
I do use bleach water to sanitize mine because I have little kids and elderly eating and there is truly a risk of food poisoning with home grown sprouts ..and honestly just because you have never gotten sick does not mean you wont
as a nurse who has had to start MANY MANY IV's on hurling patients from bad food I just think an tiny bit of bleach water is worth an world of food safety
I can post the exact recipe for santizing sprouts but I think it may have been mentioned on this board before?
Sprouts are fun ..good for you when sanitized

The only time I have seen corn sprouts served, they were sprouted in darkness.

well I found this so I will try it for sure ..some places say they are good and others tough and stringy but "cute" on the plate
I would rather have something taste nicely than be cute I think at this point!

For sure! Nothing is worth eating if you wouldn't enjoy it regardless of whether the lights are on or off.
