I am looking for a few different carrot varieties. I have been growing OP tomatoes and beans for several years and now I am ready to try some of the more difficult stuff to save seed from! I have a patch of carrots that will be grown for seed this year (combination of stored roots from last year and plants that overwintered well in the garden.) but I would like to get a hold of some purple and white varieties.
I am not really picky about specific varieties - my criteria is for good storage qualities as well as taste. Winter hardiness would be a great bonus but I don't mind storing roots to plant the next year for seed - I figure the ones that make it through the winter well will be the ones I select for good storage qualities!!
So - any suggestions as to what would be good varieties to try?

I grew "Purple Haze" carrot two years ago. It is a Nantes type, and very tender, so in my soil I couldn't dig the whole root without breaking it off. I included it in my carrot landrace anyway at a rate of about 5%.
My local seed store carries mixed carrot seeds with white, red, purple, yellow, etc... Perhaps your's does as well.

Irish Eyes catalog has good prices on OP colored carrots when you compare.
